Hatfield Lioness Scholarship 2024 for Female Students from Developing Countries

The Hatfield Lioness Scholarship aims to help a female student from a developing country, where access to higher education is limited, pursue postgraduate studies at Durham University. Launched in 2018 to celebrate 30 years of women students at Hatfield College, Durham University, the scholarship is funded by alumni, friends of the college, and others who support its goals.

Benefits:

The scholarship covers:

• Full payment of university tuition fees.
• Stipend for living expenses.
• Fully funded accommodation at Hatfield College.
• One return economy air ticket from the home country to the UK.
• Cost of return travel between the UK airport and Durham City.
• ‘Settling in allowance’ upon arrival.
• Cost of UK visa and the UK Health surcharge.

Restrictions:

• The scholarship doesn’t provide funding for dependents or travel during the scholarship.
• Accommodation is for the scholarship holder only; dependents cannot be accommodated.

Requirements:

Applicants must:

• Have applied and received an unconditional place in their chosen master’s program by June 2024.
• Not be receiving any other scholarship for postgraduate studies.
• Identify as a woman.
• Be a national of specific countries listed.
• Be starting a degree program in September/October 2024.
• Hold a relevant honors degree to be admitted to the chosen Master’s course.
• Meet all course entry requirements, including English language qualification.
• Not hold a Master’s degree.
• Lack the financial means to study for a Master’s degree in the UK.

Application Process:

There are two stages to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship:

• Apply to Durham University for your chosen Master’s program, mentioning your intention to apply for the Hatfield Lioness Scholarship.
• Submit an application for the Hatfield College Lioness Scholarship here, and submit all required documents (Durham University offer letter, academic transcript, references, and IELTS certificate) to [email protected] by the college deadline of March 31, 2024.

Candidates will be notified of the outcome of their Hatfield College Lioness Scholarship application by mid-June 2024.
