ICTP Postgraduate Diploma Scholarship Programme for Physicists and Mathematicians

ICTP Postgraduate Diploma Scholarship Programme is available for young Physicists and Mathematicians from Developing Countries. This program, which began in 1991, has seen many of its graduates pursue PhDs at prestigious universities globally. Graduates have made significant contributions to teaching and research in their home countries, fostering scientific development.

Requirements

• The program is open to qualified graduates in physics, mathematics, or related fields.
• Scholarships (approximately 10 per field) are available for successful candidates from developing countries, covering travel and living expenses during their stay at ICTP.
• Selection is based on university performance and academic recommendations.

• After the completion of the courses (including examinations), participants are required to work on a dissertation, to be submitted and defended.

Eligibility

• Eligible candidates are expected to be below 28 years of age and hold a degree equivalent to an MSc (or an exceptionally good BSc) in physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Open to young graduates from all UN, UNESCO, or IAEA member countries.
• Minimum qualification: MSc degree (or an exceptionally good BSc) in physics, mathematics, or a related field.
• Fluency in English is essential.
• Adequate knowledge in specific fields, as outlined in the application.
