The Mandela Rhodes Foundation (MRF) invites applications for its prestigious Postgraduate Scholarships, offering young African leaders comprehensive funding and a transformative leadership development program.
Requirements
- Citizen of an African country
- Age between 19 and 29
- Undergraduate degree with excellent academic results
- Proficiency in English
Financial Support
- Covers tuition for a one-year Honor’s or a two-year Master’s degree in any field
- Includes study materials, research, and medical aid allowances
- Accommodation, meals, personal allowance, and economy class travel to and from home country to the South African university at the beginning and end of the degree.
- Research and conferencing grants available
Leadership Development Program
- Based on principles of reconciliation, education, entrepreneurship, and leadership
- Week-long residential workshops to foster inner transformation and leadership skills
- Equips young African leaders to drive positive change on the continent
Timeline
- March: Applications open
- April: Application deadline (21 April 2024)
- June: Round Two notifications
- July: Round Three notifications
- August: Final Round interview invitations
- October: Interviews conducted in South Africa. If you are in the final round and you are based outside South Africa, you will be flown in for an in-person interview with the selection committee. You will be notified by the end of October if you are selected as a Mandela Rhodes Scholar.
- October-December: Scholars secure university acceptance and study visa
