The 2024 ACU Higher Education & the SDGs Challenge Grants are now open for applications until June 2, 2024, at 16:00 UTC. These grants, offered by the ACU, support collaborative initiatives centered around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in higher education. Previous grants have been used to source for energy-saving and clean energy options for Fijian schools, support women’s economic empowerment by addressing the financial literacy and gender-based disparities in access to finance, and several other activities.
Eligibility
- Open to professional and academic staff at ACU member universities
- Focus areas include engagement and impact, estates and stewardship, partnerships, research, and teaching and learning
Funding
- Four grants available, each up to GBP 2,500
How to Apply
- Be a staff member at an ACU member university
- Review the FAQs/Application Guidance
- Submit your application through the online form
- If you already have a MyACU account, access the grant application form
- If you don’t have a MyACU account, register for an account and follow the provided instructions in the registration email to login before accessing the application form.
Exception
Applicants cannot be from a university that has previously received an ACU Higher Education and the SDGs Network Grant. Please check our grantees pages below to see if this applies to your university.
Applicants are encouraged to:
- Collaborate with other ACU member universities or organizations to foster Commonwealth partnerships
- Consider matching or additional funding from their university, though not essential
Possible project ideas include virtual collaborations, sharing learning materials, integrating sustainable development into operations, and developing SDG-focused research strategies.
