The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program aims to provide funding to outstanding postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will contribute positively to the economic, social, and research-based growth of Canada.

Scope
- 70 fellowships are awarded annually, with approximately 140 awards active at any time.
- Fellowships are evenly distributed among the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC).
Eligibility Requirements
- Open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and foreign citizens.
- Research areas include health, natural sciences/engineering, and social sciences/humanities.

- $70,000 per year (taxable)

- October to December 2024: Evaluation of applications.
- Mid-February 2025: Anticipated notification of results. Applicants will be notified by email when the results are available on ResearchNet.
- April to October 2025: Payments begin.
